Do you know what it tomato? Yes, in this era of globalization the existence of tomato is a common knowledge, unlike when it was 300 years ago. Tomato is originated from south america, and probably was being spread to the world during the era of Spain and Portuguese colonialism. During that time, crops was a quite huge commodity and thanks to that now we know what tomato is.

Tomato is famous because of several things. Firstly, it's physical appearance is unique. It has a distinctive somewhat-reddish orange color and almost round shape with a nice green cut stem on top of it. Since no other creature resembles the same shape, or at least we do not know, it became famous for it. Secondly, its lacking real identity. What do we say by identity is whether it is a fruit or a vegetable. Since it is produced from a flower, it is supposed to be a fruit but people do not really sees tomatoes as a fruit. Somehow you do not treat them as fruit, e.g : you cook them like they are a veggies, you rarely eat them as it's original form (depends on your culture though), and also you never peel them before you eat. Lastly, it is highly nutritious. It has one of the best antioxidants, especially the cooked one (don't forget vitamin C). Since this is not a story about antioxidants I would not go into very deep into it (to be honest, I am not going into it at all). All I need that, you believe the fact that tomatoes are highly nutritious so that all my three reasons about tomatoes are right. Well, there are actually many more reasons why tomatoes are famous. Regardless of the correctness of the article, tomatoes are indeed famous.
